Listening to Nature: A Nature Dharma Retreat with Tanya Wiser & Kirsten Rudestam
This is a silent, nature-based Vipassana meditation retreat. We are delighted to return to the precious land at the Rain on Snow Retreat Center for Listening to Nature, our Summer Solstice Retreat in 2025. This retreat offers a precious opportunity to slow down, attune to the rhythms of the natural world, and explore practices of deep listening—to both our inner nature and the world around us. We will be camping along the Wind River in the Columbia River Gorge, a beautiful setting to cultivate a deeper connection with the natural world and bring the elements alive in our awareness and direct experience. Practice periods will include silent and guided sitting, walking meditation, and Dharma talks. This is a dana (donation) retreat. Our retreat is offered freely as a gift to those who attend—there is no cost. To learn more, email elementsnaturedharma@gmail.com
All people of all identities are welcome here. No previous camping or retreat experience is required.
Dates: June 20-25, 2025

5 Day Women's Retreat at Hidden Villa, Los Altos CA October16-20, 2025 with Tanya Wiser & Shelley Gault
This silent Insight meditation retreat offers a precious opportunity to slow down, attune to the rhythms of the natural world, and explore practices of deep listening—to both our inner nature and the world around us—in the company of other practitioners who identify as women. Join us as we nourish our bodies, minds, and hearts together in community at Hidden Villa, a beautiful organic farm and nature preserve on land originally stewarded by the Olhone tribe. Hidden Villa was founded over 100 years ago by social reformers Frank and Josephine Duveneck, who were avid environmentalists and nature lovers. Today it is a non-profit that offers educational programs in agriculture and ecology to local students.
Our retreat will be held in the hostel, which has a large hall for gathering and a full kitchen, with a screened in porch for dining. There are indoor bathrooms with showers, and yogis will have the option to either set up tents or sleep in shared bunkrooms.
